Georgia May Jagger Cancels Appearance

Australia won't be seeing much of the Jagger family as they mourn the loss of designer L'Wren Scott, who was in a relationship with Rolling Stones front man Mick Jagger for thirteen years. In the wake of Scott's apparent suicide Monday, the Stones canceled their Australian tour, and now Jagger's youngest daughter, 22-year-old model Georgia May Jagger, has opted out of her scheduled appearance at Australian Fashion Week.

Georgia May Jagger was set to walk the runway for Australian fashion house Camilla this week but canceled the engagement in order to fly back to New York to be with her family.

A spokesperson for Camilla released a statement about Jagger's cancellation, published by the Daily Mail:

In light of the recent sad news, Georgia May Jagger will not be participating in Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival for the Camilla Grand Showcase. We ask that you respect Ms. Jagger and her family’s privacy at this very difficult time. On behalf of the Festival and the Camilla team we offer our sincere condolences to Ms. Jagger and her family."

The Daily Mail also reports that Jagger was often seen out with her father's girlfriend and in the front row at the designer's fashion shows, indicating that the two had a close relationship. Jagger learned of Scott's death when her plane landed in Sydney on Tuesday and rushed back to the States to join her family in mourning. Although Scott's official cause of death has not yet been announced, officials believe it was likely suicide.
