Angelina Jolies Reportedly Hires IRL Olivia Pope

by Caitlyn Callegari

While I'm quite honestly still reeling from the Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie news, it's becoming blatantly obvious that the divorce train is still rolling full speed ahead. According to Us Weekly, Jolie hired crisis manager Judy Smith of Smith & Company, as per their sources. If the name Judy Smith isn't ringing a bell, that's only because you don't know her by her real name. You know her as Scandal's Olivia Pope, because Smith is the woman who inspired the character.

Bustle has reached out to reps for Jolie and Smith for comment on report that they are working together, but has not yet received a response.

According to Us Weekly's sources, hiring Smith is a power play of sorts. An alleged "pal" of Jolie's claimed to the publication, "Angie says she is going to destroy him. If something is broken, she just throws it away." Of course, at this point it's all speculation.

While this all sounds dramatic, per an E! News source, Smith "is typically a calming non-combative influence. Certainly seems like someone to give better advice than what she has been apparently been getting." While Smith is a practiced professional, if Scandal is any indication, it's clear that she can frame an image however she sees fit. For the best interest of the Pitt-Jolie kids, hopefully the image that's spun is one that causes them the least amount of hurt.
