Weed-Infused Wine Is Hard To Buy, But "Worth It"

by Dasha Fayvinova

For those of us that love to smoke a little ganja and drink a little wine, some pretty good news comes from California this week. Apparently, a product called Canna Vine, or weed-infused wine, is going to be hitting the market in California for those who are eligible. But before you start booking tickets or wine retreats with your best friends, make sure that you are actually allowed to partake. Because nothing is worse than getting to your destination after hours at the airport, only to find out there is no way in hell you and your friends are drinking the doobie juice. "Good job, Brenda," they'll all say. You don't want to be the Brenda.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Canna Vine uses the wine process to combine biodynamically farmed grapes and organic marijuana. If you don't know what the term biodynamics means, according to the Biodynamics Association, it is a "holistic, ecological, and ethical approach to farming, gardening, food and nutrition".

Biodynamic agriculture has been practiced for nearly a century, on every continent on Earth. Biodynamic principles and practices are based on the spiritual insights and practical suggestions of Dr. Rudolf Steiner, and have been developed through the collaboration of many farmers and researchers since the early 1920's.

Doesn't that sound cool? Well, those principles are applied to the ingredients that are inside of Canna Vine — officially making it a really boss gift/purchase.

If you want to get your hands on a bottle there are a few things you should know:

First, this wine in only available in California. But even if you find yourself in California, you will need to have a marijuana license. To obtain that, you will need to know a variety of rules that are specific and time-consuming. But even if you are in California and have a marijuana license, you will still need to drop some serious cash to have one of these bad-boys in your cart. Half a bottle can end up costing you from $120 to $400 dollars. That's pretty understandable considering how much weed product can potentially be put inside.

Maybe you could just chill at home with a blunt and a glass of nine dollar foot-wine. That's that wine that has a foot on it. At the end of the day, you will get the same effect but won't have to drop an entire month's rent on something frivolous. At the same time, this is a pretty cool item and a lot of people are excited to try it for themselves.

If you want to try a different brand of weed-infused wine — you can get your hands on Melissa Etheridge's wine called "No Label". Her website called it "expensive" but worth it. No prices are available on the website without putting in your marijuana license number, so open your studying books and get cracking!
