These Actors and Series Will Probably Get Emmy Nods

by Kaitlin Reilly

The 2013 Emmy nominations will be revealed tonight, but that isn't stopping fans from predicting which of their beloved shows will get a nod... and which will be iced out by the committee. We've averaged out the most common predictions for this year's award show based on reports from The L.A. Times , USA Today, IndieWire, The Hollywood Reporter, The Huffington Post , and, of course, Bustle to create the ultimate Emmys prediction list. It's an honor just to be nominated... or at least, predicted that you'll be nominated. Right?

Based on reports, here is who you should expect to snag nods come Thursday morning.

Best Drama Series

Breaking BadHouse of CardsGame of ThronesDownton Abbey Mad Men Homeland

While most of the TV series on this list won't be a surprise to viewers, the Netflix original series House of Cards stands out amongst the rest. While the show was well-received by critics and fans alike, many people are still unclear of the place that online television has in the media landscape. (In fact, even here at Bustle, we've been wondering about its place.) An Emmy nomination for the series would make online TV's position amongst mainstream shows more defined.

Best Comedy Series

Modern FamilyThe Big Bang Theory30 RockGirls Louie Veep

Modern Family — who took home the Comedy award three years in a row — has definitely lost some of its shine in its fourth season (not to mention its laughs), but there's not a chance that this ABC gem would be snubbed by the committee. Here's hoping that a different fan favorite takes the comedy award.

Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series

Claire Danes, Homeland Julianna Margulies, The Good WifeMichelle Dockery, Downton AbbeyElisabeth Moss, Mad MenKerry Washington, Scandal Robin Wright, House of Cards

Danes (and her brilliant ugly cry) is once again the favorite to win the Emmy, but with the attention that Scandal is receiving, Kerry Washington could be the dark horse in the race.

Best Lead Actress in a Comedy Series

Tina Fey, 30 RockLena Dunham, GirlsAmy Poehler, Parks and Recreation Zooey Deschanel, New GirlJulia Louise-Dreyfus, Veep Laura Dern, Enlightened

While Dunham could take home the award in this category, many people believe that Fey will win for 30 Rock's final season. Either way, both women are definitely going to get a nomination.

Best Lead Actor in a Drama Series

Kevin Spacey, House of CardsJeff Daniels, The NewsroomSteve Buscemi, Boardwalk Empire Bryan Cranston, Breaking Bad Jon Hamm, Mad Men Damian Lewis, Homeland

No one really likes The Newsroom all that much, but people like Daniels' character enough to hope that he grabs a nod for the show.

Best Lead Actor in a Comedy Series

Jason Bateman, Arrested Development Jim Parsons, The Big Bang Theory Alec Baldwin, 30 Rock Matt LeBlanc, Episodes Louis C.K., LouieDon Cheadle, House of Lies

Will the Emmys finally right its wrong of not giving Bateman a statue during Arrested Development's original run? Many think so — and getting a nomination is certainly a start. But can he beat Baldwin in his final year as 30 Rock's Jack Donaghy, and Cheadle, a movie star moonlighting as a TV star (an appealing title to any Emmy voter)?

Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series

Maggie Smith, Downton AbbeyAnna Gunn, Breaking BadChristina Hendricks, Mad Men Morena Baccarin, HomelandMonica Potter, ParenthoodChristine Baranski, The Good Wife

Parenthood actress Potter is a favorite to get a nod this year, but the often overlooked series is hardly a sure thing. So sad.

Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series

Mandy Patinkin, HomelandPeter Dinklage, Game of ThronesJonathan Banks, Breaking BadSam Waterston, The Newsroom Corey Stoll, House of CardsAaron Paul, Breaking Bad

Most critics predict Paul — last year's adorable winner — will take home the Emmy for this category once again. Which I'm totally okay with, because who doesn't love Jesse?

Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series

Julie Bowen, Modern FamilySofia Vergara, Modern Family Jessica Walter, Arrested Development Mayim Bialik, The Big Bang TheoryAllison Williams, Girls Jane Krakowski, 30 Rock

Walter could very well be Emmy-nominated for her role as the matriarch of the Bluth family on Arrested Development. If she is, could we expect a Netflix Season 5?

Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series

Adam Driver, GirlsTy Burrell, Modern FamilyEric Stonestreet, Modern FamilyEd O'Neill, Modern FamilyMax Greenfield, New GirlBill Hader, Saturday Night Live

While the actors on Modern Family are certainly talented, it's about time that the nominations go to another show in this category... but at least none of the kids are up for nominations.
