Jamie Lee Defends Lindsay Against Trump

by Michelle McGahan

Jamie Lee Curtis played Lindsay Lohan's mother in the 2003 Disney classic Freaky Friday, and proved this Friday that she always has her co-star's back. In a concise yet powerful tweet, Curtis defended Lohan against Donald Trump's misogynistic comments about the Mean Girls star. The presidential candidate told Howard Stern in 2004 that "deeply troubled" women like Lohan are "always the best in bed" in a conversation recently unearthed by CNN.

"How dare you," Curtis tweeted at Trump, quoting his comments. "She needed help. @realDonaldTrump."

A rep for Lohan told CNN that the actor is ignoring his words and is instead focusing on her charity work with children, a cause she has frequently posted about on social media — particularly in the past several weeks.

"Right now, Lindsay is choosing to focus on the positive things happening in her life and has decided to disregard the comments made about her by Presidential nominee Donald Trump," Lohan's rep said in a statement." She is focusing on helping children around the world in need and that's where her passion is."

Bustle has reached out to Trump's rep for comment regarding his words about Lohan, but has not yet heard back.

At the time, Trump visited Stern's radio show and the two had a genuinely grotesque conversation about a then 18-year-old Lohan. To set the scene, Trump asked Stern what his thoughts on were on the actor.

"There's something there right?" the Republican presidential nominee said (quote via CNN). "But you have to like freckles. I've seen a, you know, close up of her chest and a lot of freckles. Are you into freckles?"

As the two picked Lohan apart and discussed her issues with her father, Trump made the following comments:

"Yeah, you're probably right," he stated, agreeing with Stern that Lohan was "troubled."

"She's probably deeply troubled and therefore great in bed. How come the deeply troubled women, you know, deeply, deeply troubled, they're always the best in bed?" he asked.

As more and more of Trump's horrifically misogynistic and blatantly sexist comments come out, it is all the more empowering to see woman after woman take a stand against this kind of attitude. Kudos to Curtis for not only coming to the defense of Lohan, but also for explaining, so succinctly, exactly why Trump's words are so terrifying.
