This Picture Of Shiny Legs Is The New "Dress"

by Megan Grant

Remember the dress that took over the internet because no one could decide if it was blue and black or white and gold? Well, now we've got a new mind-bending illusion that has people scratching their heads, and it involves a picture of shiny legs... Or are they? The picture was shared by Instagram user @leonardhoespams on Monday, and now everyone has dropped what they're doing to figure out if this person's legs are indeed remarkably shiny and magical, or if it's just a trick using white paint. And if you think shiny legs couldn't feasibly garner that much attention, guess again. Thus far, the Instagram post has gotten 6,025 likes and nearly 800 comments, and it's growing by the minute.

Personally, I was initially a member of the shiny legs camp, thinking @leonardhoespams was blessed with limbs that are glossy AF. Maybe it was baby oil. Maybe it was coconut oil. We all know that coconut oil is the answer to everything in life. Maybe @leonardhoespams was just in the middle of some intense moisturizing. Those are some seriously lustrous legs. Shiny... or white paint? Take a look for yourself at the image which has ignited internet hysteria, and you be the judge.

I really wanted to believe that @leonardhoespams just had the slickest legs in the world, but then I took note of the objects in the background — art tools which appear to be markers of some kind — and my world collapsed. Spoiler alert: It is indeed white paint, and once you see it, you can never unsee it. Now that I really look at it, the white is a little too white for it not to be paint of some sort. I feel like my whole life has been a lie.

Still, I can see why so many of us were fooled. The white paint is in just the right places to make the legs look polished as hell. Smart move, you shiny-legged imposter. @leonardhoespams: 1. Internet: 0.
