Donald Trump Hates That He Could Be A "Loser"

It's either a last-ditch effort to stop Donald Trump moving into the White House, a fundraising opportunity, or just an effort to protect the U.S. election process from Russian hackers. Whatever you think of the vote recount effort, the online GoFundMe-styled push for a recount led by Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein has begun to turn into an actual recount. She filed in Wisconsin Friday and plans to move forward on Pennsylvania and Michigan this week, and it has the president-elect pretty darn mad. Donald Trump's statement on the recount was typical Donald. His inflammatory rhetoric still hasn't stopped.

Stein started the drive for a recount last week. It may have seemed like a long shot initially, but Stein easily raised more than the initial total required for the recount, and currently has more than $6 million raised so far to fund filing fees and pay attorneys for recounts in those three states. Trump, of course, took that really well — oh, wait, we're talking about Trump here. Actually, he released a damning statement of Stein and the Greens:

The people have spoken and the election is over, and as Hillary Clinton herself said on election night, in addition to her conceding by congratulating me, "We must accept this result and then look to the future."

It is important to point out that with the help of millions of voters across the country, we won 306 electoral votes on Election Day — the most of any Republican since 1988 — and we carried nine of 13 battleground states, 30 of 50 states, and more than 2,600 counties nationwide — the most since President Ronald Reagan in 1984.

This recount is just a way for Jill Stein, who received less than one percent of the vote overall and wasn’t even on the ballot in many states, to fill her coffers with money, most of which she will never even spend on this ridiculous recount. All three states were won by large numbers of voters, especially Pennsylvania, which was won by more than 70,000 votes.

This is a scam by the Green Party for an election that has already been conceded, and the results of this election should be respected instead of being challenged and abused, which is exactly what Jill Stein is doing.

And that was just the beginning. Trump became really incensed, more than ever once Hillary Clinton's head counsel said her campaign would participate too. In the very measured announcement, Marc Elias said it was in order to ensure the recount is fair for everybody. Trump still took it pretty hard and started attacking the Democrats while quoting Clinton's comments from the debate and her concession speech about accepting an election's outcome and then moving forward.

But even that can't match the accusations he made next. He accused there of being voter fraud cases in the millions. "In addition to winning the Electoral College in a landslide, I won the popular vote if you deduct the millions of people who voted illegally," he tweeted early Sunday. He picked out California, New Hampshire, and Virginia — despite a complete lack of evidence.

As for the recount itself, Stein filed paperwork in Wisconsin Friday, and the state board of elections has a tentative timeline for the recount. Meanwhile, in Pennsylvania, she has called on volunteers to spend Monday filing voter requests for a recount. There's no way for a candidate to file with the state, but if voters from across Pennsylvania submit affidavits individually, a recount can still happen.
