Jimmy Gibbler Is A Newcomer To 'Fuller House'

Fuller House Season 2 premieres on Dec. 9 on Netflix, and the new episodes are sure to feature both old favorites and new faces. For instance, did you know that Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber) has a brother? She does, and his name is Jimmy, of course. So who plays Jimmy Gibbler on Fuller House, and how much does he reflect the always hilarious Kimmy? Actor Adam Hagenbuch portrays the previously unseen Gibbler sibling, a character who will make his debut in the Netflix series. You probably recognize Hagenbuch from his role as Mingo on Freeform's Switched At Birth and from when he played the hunky Trent on the recently-canceled NBC sitcom Undateable.

The actor has also appeared in The Perks of Being a Wallflower and Rizzoli & Isles, and he played Ashton Kutcher in the TV movie The Brittany Murphy Story in 2014. He has also acted in the comedies Cooper Barrett's Guide to Life and Modern Family, so Hagenbuch definitely has the comedic chops to join the Gibbler family. In an interview with Bustle, Barber says Jimmy will possess the same zaniness that fans have come to love from Kimmy. "Jimmy and Kimmy are kind of cut from the same cloth," Barber says. "They're both a little quirky, a little bit different, but certainly lovable and I can't wait for the audience to meet him." On Twitter, Hagenbuch described Jimmy as Kimmy's "goofball of a brother" in a tweet in October.

That's totally apparent in the official Fuller House Season 2 trailer, in which viewers see Kimmy and Jimmy do what seems like a Gibbler sibling dance — and Jimmy kissing Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin). Could he be her new love interest — or was the smooch just a one-time thing? Naturally, the trailer does show Kimmy and Stephanie both freak out at this development, but I can't help but wonder if perhaps Stephanie will finally embrace a Gibbler in Season 2. I'm also very curious to see Jimmy interact with Kimmy's on-again, off-again ex-husband Fernando and her daughter Ramona.

Jimmy was not a character in the original Full House sitcom, but it sounds like he'll be a hilarious addition to the dynamic on Fuller House. In fact, Kimmy often mentioned a brother named Garth during the original series' run, which lasted from 1987 until 1995, but that brother with the very '90s name never appeared on-screen, according to E! News.

Kimmy's brother isn't the only new family members Fuller House fans will meet in the second season. According to The Hollywood Reporter, fans will also get to meet Uncle Joey's family and his kids. That's right — the puppeteer and comedian is a father and I bet he totally rocks it when it comes to dad jokes.

It'll be exciting to meet these new family members — and see just how Jimmy Gibbler shakes things up for the Tanner family.
