22 Pantone-Inspired Green Beauty Products
What does the phrase "fresh start" mean to you? Does it conjure images of emerging from a chrysalis to find 2017 a somehow better place? Is it about exfoliating your skin? Or simply a grassy shade of green? If you feel like bringing the spirit into your life and medicine cabinet, good news: Pantone's pick for 2017's Color of the Year is Greenery (or as I enjoy calling it, 15-0343).
The options are aplenty for Pantone-condoned green beauty products, and while they won't do all the work to "provide us with the hope we collectively yearn for amid a complex social and political landscape," as the company stated in the press release (obviously), with bright skin and buoyed spirits, they might help us get down to business.
According to the company, Pantone's choice of Greenery was inspired by the need for optimism, and compounded by factors like eco-consciousness and fashion and tech's influence on more tuned-in clothing. Whether the color will lift us all up is TBD, but in beauty, green's hopeful vibe holds true. Exfoliating products are frequently branded with the color, and often enlist green tea's antioxidants for an extra layer of protection on turned-over skin. Aloe is a tried and true soother, and cucumbers have that iconic spa-eye rep. Cosmetically, green is a mainstay in color correcting products, covering redness and fittingly soothing signs of inflammation. Here are a few products to stock up on by Jan. 1.
