The New Trailer For 'The Normal Heart' Is Here

by Mallory Schlossberg

I love you, HBO. You know drama, indeed — and you're not TV! You're HBO! And now, I, as well as millions of others, are about to love HBO even more: Thanks to the premium network and all of its glory, we can now see the trailer for Ryan Murphy's The Normal Heart , which will air on May 25.

We already have expressed how we are excited to see Murphy tackle something so stirring and dramatic, and perhaps resuscitate a reputation that's been marred by the pattern of 'good shows turning meh.' The Normal Heart is Larry Kramer's iconic play about dealing with the AIDS crisis in the 1980s in NYC, and it most recently saw a revival on Broadway in 2011, which received excellent reviews, as well as a Tony for Best Revival of a Play. The play is top-notch, which means if you put the stellar script in the hands of even merely capable actors, any adaptation should shine.

Fortunately for us, this adaptation has a stellar cast. It will star Mark Ruffalo, Julia Roberts (in her return to television!), and Jim Parsons, and it looks like it's going to be an emotional ride that I, indeed, want to hop on.
