A 'Star Wars: Episode VII' Update

by Emma Goddard

The Star Wars: Episode VII news has been endless as fans attempt to figure out who is actually going to be in the movie and how J.J. Abrams is going to bring this film to life after taking the creative torch from George Lucas. Time after time, we have heard how this actor or that actress could star in the upcoming film, with those from Jesse Plemons to Lupita Nyong’o being rumored to join the cast, and the suspense has been killing us. However, everyone can finally breath a little bit because Disney Studios Chairman Alan Horn has announced that most of the cast is set in stone and that Star Wars: Episode VII has already begun filming.

Thank the lawd. Although there are a few character roles, which have yet to be settled (of course), Horn said, “We have a lot of them [in place]. We’re just not completely done yet.” Horn noted that much of the ambiguity surrounding the film’s cast has been due to the fact that everyone has been focusing on making sure the script is right, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “It’s all about the screenplay,” Horn said. “It has to be screenplay, screenplay, screenplay.”

However, the script has now been finalized, according to Horn, and they are simply working on finding the rest of their cast as well as continuing with filming to meet their December 2015 release date. Phew!
