The 'Star Wars' Cast Has Been Announced!

by Kadeen Griffiths

Star Wars: Episode VII just keeps rolling out the good news, and fans of the original films are eating it up. Theories and speculation have been running rampant on everything from the plot to the cast, and now, finally, the official cast list for Star Wars: Episode VII is now up on the website and Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, and Princess Leia aren't the only familiar faces we'll be seeing. John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow are the newcomers to the trilogy and they'll be joining Anthony Daniels (better known as C-3PO), Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), Kenny Baker (R2-D2) and of course, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, and Peter Mayhew will be there, too.

Of course, no one thought that they were going to bring Han Solo back to the series without Chewbacca loyally at his side, but getting to see C-3PO and R2-D2 making the future of robotics look damn good is a lot like getting that bike you wanted for Christmas. You could have guessed just from how your parents were acting that it was a sure thing, but you didn't let yourself get excited about it until you actually saw it under the tree.

The good news also came with a black and white photo of the cast sitting down to do a read-through of the script, as if to say, "It's happening, guys, it's really happening!"

"We are so excited to finally share the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII. It is both thrilling and surreal to watch the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together to bring this world to life, once again," said Director J.J. Abrams in the announcement. "...Everyone is doing their best to make the fans proud."

So far, they are definitely succeeding.
