This Brand Used Curvy Bloggers As Models

by Christine Cauthen

SimplyBe, a clothing line that caters to sizes 10-28, just released a line tailored to the colorful print and flowy fabrics that are all the rage for festival fashion. Even though I would kill for that boxy watercolor t-shirt, the best part about this line isn't the clothing: it's the models that SimplyBe chose to show it off. They recruited five of our favorite plus sized fashion bloggers (one of which happens to be one of our lovely contributors, Marie Southard Ospina) to be the models for this line. By the looks of it, brands are starting to cater to the demands of fans and critics alike, and are using bloggers as models for their clothing lines. SimplyBe is just the latest to pick up on this trend, but brands such as Scarlett & Jo and Swimsuitsforall have already jumped on board.

Festival season is in full swing. While Coachella has already passed, Bonnaroo, a huge festival in Manchester, Tennessee, begins this Thursday. Later this season is Lollapalooza, Loufest and more, and Governors Ball starts none other than today (Friday). This summer is already a hot one, so the light fabrics, flowing maxi-dresses, and comfortable yet fashionable shoes that SimplyBe is offering in their festival lookbook is right on trend. It's so refreshing not only to see cute clothes in a wide range of sizes, but also see those clothes modeled on more than one body type. Kudos, SimplyBe!
