Your Fave 'HP' Stars All Visited Diagon Alley

by Rosie Narasaki

Excuse me while I curb my jealousy: The cast of the Harry Potter franchise (minus a few very key players) just attended The Wizarding World of Harry Potter's Diagon Alley, which opens officially on July 8th. It was quite the pastiche of our favorite characters: non-ginger Fred (RIP) and George, Ginny, Bill, Neville Longbottom, Hagrid, Draco Malfoy, Griphook/Professor Flitwick, and Bellatrix Lestrange were all present to promote the new Diagon Alley.

I've never felt more sad to be on the wrong coast, because not only does it look delightful with its colorfully wonky, off-kilter architecture, it also features Harry Potter mainstays like Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlor (which apparently has butterbeer soft-serve!), Weasley Wizard Wheezes, The Leaky Cauldron, and Gringotts Bank, which is home to the new "Escape from Gringotts" ride. (Who didn't read that chapter in book seven and think it would make a great ride?). The ride features, (as it should), a huge dragon, which according to People, Evanna Lynch says "is even more true to life than the movie sets." Move over, Khaleesi!

Excitement and jealousy aside, the ladies of the cast turned out some nice summer looks for the opening. Let's take a quick look:

Evanna Lynch wore an absolutely adorable, contrast-collared hot pink mod dress. Luna Lovegood might find it a tad staid for her taste, but I absolutely love it. It's like updated Peggy Olson glam!

Also, as if you weren't already jealous enough:

You can bet that Bellatrix would sooner Avada Kedavra herself than be caught in a romantic outfit like this, but Mrs. Weasley took care of her a long time ago. Besides, this retro printed dress looks absolutely perfect for summer.

The cut is a touch on the frumpster side, but her face game is off the charts. Plus, her earrings are spectacular, and the print is definitely eye-catching. BookGinny would get a kick out of those earrings, and let's be honest, MovieGinny probably wouldn't be averse to the dowdy silhouette.
