Amy Adams Just Did Something Awesome

by Mallory Schlossberg

Amy Adams is pretty darn great. Not only is she an incredibly talented actress and someone who makes me believe that it is okay to break out in song while cleaning (I'm looking at you, Enchanted), but she exhibits super admirable behavior, too. Here's the evidence: according to People, Adams gave up her first class seat on an airplane so that an American soldier could have a seat. Now there's someone who is the opposite of a diva.

Adams's act of kindness came to the public's knowledge when the co-host of ESPN's Numbers Never Lie, Jemele Hill, saw the event and tweeted :

Just saw actress Amy Adams do something incredibly classy. She gave her 1st class seat to an American soldier. I'm an even bigger fan now.

Hill later spoke to ABC News about witnessing the quiet event. She said:

As I was getting seated, I saw the flight attendant guide the soldier to Ms. Adams' seat. She was no longer in it, but it was pretty clear that she'd given up her seat for him [...] I was incredibly impressed [...She] did it so quietly and quickly that it speaks to her character," Hill said. "And somebody in coach just got a helluva seat mate.

Indeed! Whatever the reason that Adams did what she did (apparently, her father served in the U.S. military), it's no matter — it's proof that celebrities can exhibit acts of generosity, and that no, they don't need to fly first class. A little less leg room and an absence of complimentary booze is a-okay with Amy Adams.

So we've addressed that Amy Adams is phenomenal, can we address that she deserves an Oscar? Okay, cool. It's been addressed.
