For those of us who grew up in the '90s, Dumb and Dumber will always have a special place in our hearts. Lloyd's baller haircut will never be forgotten, nor will Harry's shagadelic van, and here's to assuming that peeing in a bottle will always have a special connotation forever more. However, as some things are best left in the '90s, and much like parachute pants and scrunchies, maybe a stalled Dumb and Dumber is a blessing in disguise. Besides, there are so many other movies we'd rather see remade, awesome movies Daniels and Carrey have done before and after the famous (or infamous) Dumb and Dumber. Here are four great films starring Daniels and Carry that we'd love to see rebooted.
Away We Go
Sure, Daniels might have boasted just a small part, but the actor shines brightest in character roles. And this movie made my heart almost explode with cuteness. Our pitch: A post-baby Away We Go 2, which will give us an excuse to see John Krasinski and Maya Rudolph being the coolest parents we know.
The Squid and the Whale
There's something about Daniels' face that I find so endearing. Combine that with Laura Linney being amazing as always and you have a tender, make you laugh, cry, and lose 10 pounds kind of family drama. Give me more Jeff, give me more!
I Love You Phillip Morris
EWAN AND JIM FOREVER. I get that there can't really be a follow up, seeing as Steven Jay Russell is imprisoned at the end and like... how much can you really say about that? But still. I want more cons, and loads more Jim Carrey as a gay man.
The Truman Show
The high point of the comedic actor's career, The Truman Show allowed all of Carrey's best traits to shine through without getting bogged down in slapstick. And ever since seeing the movie's credits roll, we've been wanting to know how Truman fared in the real world. But in case that never happens, good afternoon, good evening, and good night.
