Alright, so, no, the world does not need another makeup line, but when it's this awesome how can you pass it up? YouTube beauty guru Michelle Phan has teamed up with L’Oreal to create 'em,' a makeup line that'll provide you with all your beauty needs. There are 250 — no, that is not an exaggeration — products in the line, including blush, lipstick, eye shadow, and "Life Palettes" that contain 24 eye shadows, four blushes, and eight lip colors.
The line seems like a natural next step for Phan, who teamed up with Estée Lauder in 2012 for an exclusive makeup palette. With 4,507,303 YouTube subscribers, 750 million video hits, 417,038 Twitter followers, and 1,412,548 Facebook likes (no, I did not just mash my keyboard a bunch of times), it was only a matter of time before Phan gave her fans more than just makeup tutorials.
What's especially neat about 'em' is that it's inspired by Phan's followers. When developing the line, Phan took to her Facebook page and YouTube channels to ask fans what beauty products they wish existed, what colors they'd like to see, and what shade names they like best.
Although other beauty blogger have sold makeup (fellow vlogger Lauren launched a line of palettes in 2009), Phan is the first beauty blogger to launch her own makeup complete line. It's an exciting feat, not just for her. 'em' is proof that bloggers do indeed have staying power, just so long as they're willing to step away from the computer and make some savvy businesses decisions.
