Senate Women's Restroom Grows, Indicating Progress

by Lane Florsheim

Signs of progress can take on many different forms. There's Apple's product-revealing Worldwide Developers Conference, Plan B's increased over-the-counter availability, and Connecticut's Homeless Person's Bill of Rights. Then, there are bathrooms.

Yes, bathrooms. The Washington Post reported that renovations are underway to expand the Senate women's restroom. The current one isn't big enough to accommodate the historic number of female senators.

The ladies are excited for their new digs. “We’re even going to have a window,” Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) said.

Here's hoping the renovations make room for even more than the record-setting 20 female senators—I have a feeling they're going to need it.
