Maybe we're all just a little jaded when it comes to Hollywood love, but not every celebrity couple feels totally believable. After all, it's the oldest PR trick in the book: Have two hot stars date one another and watch as their metaphorical fame meter starts to rise. While some of us may have rooted for these couples, not everyone was convinced that they were all real couples to begin with. So what celebrity couples were accused of putting on a show for the paparazzi? Here's who fans called out as phonies... whether they were in love for real or not, we'll never know.

This wasn’t the first time Efron was accused of entering a PR-elationship: His alleged romance with Lily Collins was also called out as a sham.

It’s no secret that Swift doesn’t get along with her alleged ex — she’s made several public jabs at the One Direction-er since their alleged breakup in 2012. Her biggest one?
