Taylor's 'People' Cover Is A MAJOR Throwback

Taylor Swift magazine covers are pretty much just part of life at this point. Has there been a month in the past four years that Swift hasn't graced the cover of a big-name glossy? I would guess no. But her most recent cover is something a little bit different and is 100 percent awesome. Taylor Swift covered People 's 40th Anniversary issue, styled as a perfect replica of Mia Farrow's 1974 cover. Swift seems an obvious option for the anniversary cover, but the choice to mimic an older issue is an interesting and fun choice.

The two covers are incredibly similar in terms of hair, accessories, make up, and outfits. The only slight difference is that on the Farrow cover, the actress looks away from the cover and for the Swift cover, she looks at the camera. However, in another version of the cover floating around, posted by People, Swift looks away from the camera as well.

Farrow was 29 when she graced the very first People cover 40 years ago; she was also the star of the biggest movie at the time, The Great Gatsby. While Swift is only 24, there's no doubt in anyone's mind that she, like Farrow, is among the most well-known celebrity of our time.

With a new album coming out, a new appreciation for feminism, and a "no time for boys" attitude, Swift had a lot to say in the People interview. She specifically talked about the ways that her life has changed in the past couple years.

"Being on my own, prioritizing my girlfriends, my family and my music above everything else and trying things I never thought I'd try," Swift said. "It's really been a liberating and freeing time."

Swift isn't everyone's cup of tea, but as a woman, it's hard to argue with the "Shake It Off" singers new perspective on life.

You can find the 40th Anniversary edition of People on shelves as of today.
