She's The Latest L'Oreal Spokesmodel

L'Oreal Paris has plenty of gorgeous actresses repping the brand. The popular drugstore brand has counted the likes of Blake Lively, Lea Michele, Gwen Stefani, Jennifer Lopez, and Eva Longoria as faces of L'Oreal. Now, actress Naomi Watts is the latest L'Oreal spokesmodel. Because she's worth it.

Watts is a a mom-of-two and she is a serious double threat with her Oscar-nominated talent and her natural good looks, so she is certainly a source of beauty and life inspo for women everywhere. Watts, 46, joins recent L'Oreal appointments actress Jane Fonda and model Karlie Kloss as an ambassadress for drugstore brand.

It's interesting to see the patterns that each of the major drugstore brands has when it select the faces you see splashed all over displays and imaging in stores and in magazines.

Generally speaking, Maybelline usually hires models to hawk its wares while CoverGirl has recruited edgier musicians — Katy Perry, Pink, Nervo, Janelle Monae — as of late. Fellow drugstore titan Revlon often goes with actresses, like Halle Berry, Olivia Wilde, Julianne Moore, and Emma Stone, to name a few.

L'Oreal seems to mix a variety of both singers and actresses in its rep repertoire and I love that they select ambassadors from all age groups. Diane Keaton, who is 68, has repped L'Oreal.

And new L'Oreal rep Fonda is 76.

So kudos to L'Oreal for sampling from all age ranges, and since it has products designed for mature women in its arsenal, it makes sense to market appropriately and to spotlight beauties who aren't 25.

Plus, beauty knows no age boundaries or restrictions, as Marc Jacobs Beauty deftly demonstrated when it chose Jessica Lange for its face.

The Watts x L'Oreal news was initially posted on the brand's Canadian IG account, as opposed to a widely serviced press release, so either big ups to L'Oreal for engaging with social media first or a big oops to the Canadian team for leaking the news ahead of the company's big reveal.

That's all immaterial, really, since Watts is a stunner and she is in good company as a rep for L'Oreal. Expect to see Watts in a bunch of product print ads, in store displays, on billboards, and in commercials soon. Congrats to Naomi Watts and L'Oreal on their new partnership.
