He'll Go to Space Only in His Movies

Some might see him as an out of this world actor (after all, he did win a Golden Globe and Oscar for his role in Dallas Buyers Club), but Matthew McConaughey most likely wouldn't go to space without his family. During the Hollywood premiere of his new movie Interstellar, McConaughey revealed that the proposition of going off into the great unknown is just too big of a question. Yes, he might be a top-notch actor, but he does have his family to think about, in addition to the fear of actually going to space.

"Oh, that's not easy to answer," he said. "I've got family and I don't want to be the guinea pig, and I'd have to see how long I'd be gone and if I could take them with me." It's sweet that he loves his family so much, which includes his wife, Camila Alves, and their three kids, Levi, Vida, and Livingston. Speaking of his family, the actor also dedicates his family and personal life to the success of his career. "I don't know how to directly say it, but I would say where I am today has a lot to do with my real life as well."

With all of this space talk, I can't help but think back to that famous speech McConaughey made after he won his 2014 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) award. You know, the one where he mentioned Neptune and spaceships? The speech that left everyone, including Cate Blanchett... dumbfounded? Yeah, that's the word. I guess his old speech has no influence over McConaughey shooting off into space. Here it is for your viewing pleasure:
