Jessa Duggar's Wedding Dress Wasn't White

by Erin Mayer

BREAKING NEWS: a Duggar daughter did not wear white for her wedding! That's right, Jessa Duggar's wedding dress was pale pink and totally gorgeous. The unconventional shade looked absolutely amazing on her. While I have plenty of issues with the Duggar's lifestyle choices, I (so far) wholeheartedly agree with their wedding dress instincts.

According to People, Jessa Duggar married Ben Seewald on Saturday in an "intimate" ceremony of 1,000 people, held at the First Baptist Church in Bentonville, Arkansas. Jessa's light pink confection, featuring a full skirt and beaded cap-sleeved bodice, was designed by the label Allure as part of their Fall 2014 Modest collection (so that's why it was Duggar-approved). She may actually have out-stripped her sister Jill, who wore a lovely lace dress to marry Derek Dillard in June. But that dress was purity-white instead of fun-loving pink and so I think we have a clear winner here.

There you have it — Jessa Duggar may not have had her first kiss at her wedding, but she did become the first member of the Duggar clan to wear a nontraditional dress to the ceremony. Let's hope this rebellious streak continues.

No word yet on what the bridesmaids dresses looked like, but let's hope they were lacking in fake leather belts (lookin' at you, Jill).
