She came, she saw, she conquered. Lea Thompson was eliminated on Dancing With the Stars, but not before the show had a major impact on her, and she had one on others. You may know the actress from her Back to the Future days playing Marty McFly's mother, but once upon a time she was also a professional ballerina. Though she gave up dance years ago, it wasn't long before Thompson was topping the DWTS competition with her beautiful, intricate numbers watch week.
It's sad to see someone that talented go, but Thompson is taking it all in stride. "I feel strong," she said after she was eliminated. DWTS helped change her life in ways she never anticipated before joining the show. "It just really rekindled my love of dance," she said.
And Monday night she reiterated a goal she's had throughout the competition: she wants to inspire other women. ”I want women my age to know that they can still try something new and challenge themselves,” she told me. “It doesn’t matter how old you are—own your sexiness. Show the young ones you still have it going on.”
She definitely helped show that no matter your age, you can kill it on the dance floor in sexy and sweet numbers alike. DWTS fans will miss the talented performer. But hopefully she'll be back in the dance world again soon, because her skills are far too good to see go to waste.
