Ryan Vs. Nick on 'New Girl': Because Only One Jess Love Interest Can Prevail
Oh Jess, how lucky you are to find yourself in a situation like this. In recent episodes of New Girl , Jess has been dodging love interest Ryan, a co-teacher at her school that she vowed to not have a relationship with. Unfortunately, or fortunately, Jess couldn't suppress her feelings for Ryan for very long, because while she, Ryan, and Coach, were at a conference for teaching, Jess and Ryan shared a passionate kiss at the end of the event. She tried very hard to avoid him, but it just didn't work out. He's sweet, he's cute, he seems to care about Jess (even though he doesn't know her too well).
Then there's Nick. Nick Miller, who I believe is endgame for Jess (or me, IDK) might not be the guy for Jess at the moment, but that doesn't mean he is out of the game. Season 3 was a rough season for the show, as the coupling of Jess and Nick brought down the vibe that worked so well for the first two seasons — which is why the two aren't together right now. And while they might not be together now, doesn't mean that these two aren't going to get together again — please, we need them to get together again.
So in the spirit of a fair fight, I present to you Nick vs. Ryan.

Ryan Is British
Sure, it’s kind of a surface reason to love him, but his accent is pretty swoon worthy. Jess always seemed to have be sophisticated enough to be someone who could date a handsome British man. Then again, Nick is from Chicago (me too, but whatever) and as we all know, Chicago accents are Da Best.

Nick Is Goofy
Sure, he might not intend to be goofy, but how can you not love a guy that feels like a new man after putting on a woman’s trench coat? Ryan, on the other hand, doesn’t seem to have the goof side, but he’s still new to us. Regardless, Jess needs someone who can be fun, like her.

Ryan Is New
Jess and Nick didn’t work out. They didn’t, and that’s a fact. Whether they give it a go in the future or not doesn’t change that they already had issues as a couple. Jess has dated a lot of strange men in the past, Ryan doesn’t seem to fit that mold. He seems like a “normal” guy, which would be nice for Jess to have in her life.

Nick and Jess Have Passion
Let us remember how Jess and Nick got together. Woo, it was passionate. That kiss outside of their bedrooms by far beats Ryan and Jess’s kiss outside of the car. Sorry, but it does.

Ryan and Jess Share A Passion
So maybe they aren’t extremely passionate currently, but Jess and Ryan do share a passion. These two teachers both know what it is like to deal with students and parents daily, which could definitely be a bond for the two.

Nick Is The One & Only NICK MILLER
Sorry Ryan, but you hold no comparison to Nick freakin’ Miller. He is a Classic — with a capital C — character, who admitted that Jess was the type of girl a guy would come back for… SO COME BACK ALREADY.
