Yep, Bryce Dallas Howard Is Amazing

Tuesday is an exciting day! Not only is the work week almost over, because Thanksgiving is right around the corner, but the full trailer for Jurassic World was just released. Hallelujah! Not only does the dinosaur flick from Steven Spielberg star the almighty Chris Pratt, but it also features one gorgeous, talented, and amazing woman aka Bryce Dallas Howard. She stars as Claire, a genius scientist at Jurassic Park.

Thanks to the trailer, we get to see a little bit of Howard in action, and I hope we get to see even more of her kickass nature during the actual film, because it's something Howard's quite familiar with. Yes, she's known for being married to fellow actor Seth Gabel and being the daughter of critically-acclaimed actor/director Ron Howard, but Bryce Dallas Howard is so much more than that. She's a force to be reckoned with which she's proven time and again through her movie roles and in real life.

Seriously, Howard is going to take the world by storm one day, and I'm going to be absolutely fine with it. So, let's celebrate Howard by focusing on some of her top-notch roles showcasing the extremely talented actress she is, in addition to demonstrating just how amazing she is in real life.

That Time She Opened Up About Suffering from Postpartum Depression

Howard is a mother of two, but after the birth of her first child, Theo, she battled postpartum depression. In 2011, she bravely opened up about her struggle and being in denial. As she told E! News, "I didn't realize that what I was experiencing was postpartum depression, I called it postpartum denial." She discussed her battle via Gwyneth Paltrow's GOOP website and said, "[it was a] really therapeutic experience for me, because it allowed me to put words to my experience, which I hadn't done before and hadn't been able to do." Pregnancy can be quite the journey and for Howard to talk about her struggles is inspiring for other mothers experiencing the very same thing.

That Time She Was Downright Awful as Hilly in The Help

Raise your hand if you loved when Octavia Spencer's character, Minny, fed Howard's character, Hilly, a poop-filled pie. It's probably one of the most well-known scenes in The Help and both played it beautifully. Hilly was such an awful woman, but Howard pulled off the role amazingly well. You just can't help but respect someone who can portray such a terrible person in an exceptional way. That's talent.

That Time Her Fiery Red Hair Became Her Trademark

What's the one thing you think of at the mention of Howard's name? It's probably her flaming red hair, which is gorgeous. While some criticize others for being "gingers" and make fun of redheads, Howard embraces her red mane. I've always longed for red hair, and if I could sport fiery red locks like Howard, I'd be one happy woman.

That Time She Admitted to Reading Online Gossip

Gossiping isn't nice, but who doesn't read it online, in the grocery store, or while waiting at an appointment? We all do it, and at least Howard can admit to it. As she told MTV in 2011, "I mean, that's really not good stuff. And I have it kind of under control, but the fact that I have to have it under control — like, I have rules for myself — means it's an addiction." I admire a woman who is honest.

That Time She Gushed About Her Famous Parents

Being raised by a man who will forever be known as Opie from The Andy Griffith Show and Richie from Happy Days could either be a good or a bad thing (think of all the attention!). In the case of Howard, she is very happy to have her amazing parents, who have influenced her in more ways than one. She told OK! magazine, “My parents have been together since they were 16 years old. My dad is a very moral person, a very good person, and my mom [Cheryl Howard] is an intensely protective, fierce, hardcore warrior woman. It must not have been easy to raise four children inside the business with the kinds of career that my dad has, but they fought for their family, and they always prioritized us. And I’m grateful for that. They’re an incredible example for me as I raise my kids.” Howard admires and respects her parents and that's a worthy quality to possess.

That Time She Looked Like a Badass in the Jurassic World Trailer

Of course, I have to include this. Not only does she play an intelligent leading lady who isn't afraid to showcase her smarts (yay!), but it seems she can also handle herself in dangerous situations — like with dinosaurs. We only get a glimpse of her running away from the madness, in addition to carrying a flare while probably waiting to come face to face with a dangerous creature. I can't wait to see what else she brings to the prehistoric table.
