'Reign' Won't Return Until When?!?!

They say absence makes the heart grow fonder, which means we're all going to be super psyched by the time our favorite royals return to The CW. That's right, folks, after Reign 's midseason finale "Mercy" on Thursday night, we unfortunately won't be seeing Queen Mary, King Francis & Co. again until the New Year rolls around. (Apparently kings and queens make it a habit of partaking in holiday breaks as well. Royals: they're just like us!) So when exactly will Reign return from its winter hiatus and grace us once more with its presence? I'm sad to report that this happy day won't come until Jan. 22, 2015, immediately following the return of its CW predecessor The Vampire Diaries.

I know what you're thinking. Kelly, this seems like a billion years away from now. And yes, I have to admit, I too suffered from a very similar over-reaction as well. I mean, the absence of those beautiful (and historically inaccurate) gowns alone is grounds enough for a full-on royal hissy fit. However, there are plenty of ways out there to help distract yourself from Reign's temporary departure and help you to successfully rule over the Christmas season with great care and speed.

Try Attending a Holiday Costume Party

You may not be able to actually watch the show, but you can certainly dress for the part. A Christmas holiday party would be the perfect opportunity to get all dolled up and dance your troubles away over a glass or two (or three) of spiked egg nog. By the end of the night, you'll feel like a royal yourself.

Work on Your British Accent

Let's be honesty, everything seems better when you attach a British accent to it. It even allows fans to disregard the fact that, even though these characters are from France and Scotland, they somehow all sound British. (Silly details!) They sound positively charming and that's all that matters. So why not take a page out of their book and see what all the hullabaloo is about. You won't regret it, mate. (See? I feel better already.)

Binge-Watch Season 1

If you're really that desperate for a Reign fix, you can always go back to the beginning and start fresh. Netflix just so happens to have the entire first season available for your viewing pleasure. So just take a stroll down memory lane and remember what made you fall in love with the series in the first place.
