Kanye Wiped Out His Twitter Feed

by Lindsay Mannering

It's been a pleasure watching the Jimmy Kimmel and Kanye West Twitter battle, hasn't it? Oh, the joys of watching an adult male sling insults at another in 140 characters or less. The homemade memes that accompanied the tweets were also fabulous... that one of Spongebob? An instant classic. But now, it seems, somewon's a weetle embawassed. Kanye West deleted his Twitter rant and cleaned out his whole feed. Only 33 tweets remain.

Coincidence that Yeezus chose to leave 33, a number that is inextricably linked to Jesus? I think not. Kanye is God, after all.

Anyway, the rants were fun while they lasted. No one was sure if they were real or if they were a prank, but the tweets were fascinating, nonetheless. I mean, the hashtag #NODISRESPECTTOBENAFFLECK alone was worth the discomfort from such a patent display of anger.

But now that the tweets have been deleted, it seems more and more likely that this whole Twitter war was not just a joke. If it was, wouldn't we need the feed to refer to when they reveal it's all one, big, happy prank? Since they've been scrubbed from Kanye's feed, it's as if he's either embarrassed by the outburst, ready to move on from it, or both.

Kimmel, on the other hand, hasn't deleted any of his tweets to or about Kanye.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm going to miss Kimmel vs. Kanye. Let's all pour one out for this, the best celebrity conflict we've seen since Aaron Carter two-timed Lohan and Duff. And let's raise our empty glasses to the next feud that can't be more than a few days away. Do you think Kanye has something to say about the ending of Breaking Bad? Kanye vs. Aaron Paul on Twitter would be fantastic. #NODISRESPECTTOBENAFFLECK, or anything.
