Melissa Rivers Sues Clinic & Joan's Doctor

After much speculation and discussion, reportedly, Melissa Rivers is suing the clinic that saw her mother, Joan Rivers, before her death. According to the multi-million dollar lawsuit TMZ claims to have obtains, Rivers is claiming "gross medical malpractice" saying doctors did not try to bring her mother back to life by performing a tracheotomy. In the papers filed, Melissa also says,

The level of medical mismanagement, incompetency, disrespect and outrageous behavior is shocking and frankly, almost incomprehensible. Not only did my mother deserve better, every patient deserves better.

Ever since Joan's death and official autopsy report, which stated that Rivers died of a pulmonary attack leading to loss of oxygen to the brain, people have been curious over whether Melissa would sue, and now it sounds like she has. It's been said that one doctor took cellphone pictures of Joan during surgery while she was sedated. Which brings me to Melissa's next lawsuit, as she is also said to be suing Joan's personal doctor, Gwen Korovin, who said having the pictures taken is what Joan would have wanted and claims she would have wanted to seem them in the recovery area.

In addition, Melissa reportedly says Korovin shouldn't have been allowed in the room during the procedure. Per the lawsuit, Korovin left in the middle of the emergency and, allegedly, that's because she knew she shouldn't have been in the room. According to the suit, essentially, Korovin left Joan to fend for herself.

If that isn't enough, TMZ reports the suit says "another doctor took issue with a colleague who wanted to scope the affected area, saying, 'Renuka, you're such a curious cat. You always want to know what's going on.' The suit says the doctor refused to authorize the scope."

The New York Daily News first broke the story. According to Rivers' family lawyer Jeffrey Bloom, "Had doctors acted as physicians for Joan Rivers instead of groupies, Joan Rivers would have been doing Fashion Police last week."
