How To Get Kylie Jenner's Signature Makeup Look

by Miki Hayes

I know there are people out there who are probably over hearing about Kylie Jenner's makeup, #lipgate, and all of that. But I am not one of those people. I mean, I get it. It's pretty easy to hate on someone whose makeup style is famous and yet there doesn't appear to be anything too special about it. Did she cultivate some mind-blowing new technique? No. Did she come up with an inspired combination of colors to wear together? Far from it. But she did find a way to rock a look that is natural yet totally glam at the same time.

And one of the best things about her signature makeup look? Not only is it relatively easy to do, but it's also totally wearable. That means for anyone, any day of the week. There's no insanely bold colors or textures that might be considered "office inappropriate," or that would draw too much attention at the wrong time. It's a look that can go effortlessly from day to night. And on top of it all, she uses products that are relatively accessible to the masses. So you know what? Thank you Kylie Jenner, for giving (most of) us a makeup look that we can not only admire but also achieve for ourselves. Here's how to get a Kylie Jenner inspired look, plus the products she uses for her signature style.

Face

What to do: Kylie's skin is all about bronzer and highlighter. Once you've achieved an even base, contour the cheekbones and temples, and then warm up the face with some bronzer. Then highlight the cheekbones, above the brows, down the nose, and on the chin.

What to use: For a striking contour and bronze all in one, try a bronzing powder like Nars Laguna. And for a highlight that won't quit? Try Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Opal.

Eyes

What to do: To get Kylie's usual eye look, fill in brows with a pencil so that they look natural yet arched. Define your crease with a taupe-y brown, and draw a thick wing with black liner. Smudge some black liner on your lower lash-line, and apply a volumizing and curling mascara. Finish off the look with false lashes.

What to use: Kylie prefers Eyeko products for both her liner and mascara. Her Instagram has featured the brand's Eye Do Liquid Eyeliner and Black Magic Mascara.

Lips

What to do: As you probably know by now, Kylie Jenner's lip look is relatively easy to achieve. It's all about finding that right color. Once you have it, just overdraw your lips, drawing straight across the cupid's bow, and fill in with the same color.

What to use: Kylie's makeup artist revealed he uses MAC lip liners to line and fill her lips. Try Soar, Spice, or Whirl to get her signature colors. Some other options that are similar to the rosewood nudes Kylie prefers are: ColourPop Lippie Pencil in Bound, Susan Posnick Color Duo in Nude, and Ardency Inn Modster Long Play Supercharged Lip Color in Valentine.
