Zedd & Selena Gomez Make A Perfect Musical Duo

by Alex Kritselis

Did you hear the good news? It's finally here. It, of course, being a new song. On Monday, Zedd and Selena Gomez premiered their new single, "I Want You to Know," and it's the springtime anthem we've all been waiting for. As you well know, February is usually around the time when people start getting so sick of winter that they just want to hole up inside their homes and watch Netflix and eat raw cookie dough until the weather warms up.

It's also around the time when pop music fans start craving breezy, up-tempo dance tracks about lovin' and livin' it up — the kind of songs that are best enjoyed on an outdoor patio somewhere with a drink in your hand and the sun shining brightly. Ah, don't you miss those days? Amazingly, "I Want You to Know" has the power to take you back there. Check out the song below — you'll understand what I'm talking about.

On the turbo-charged chorus, Gomez sings:

I want you to know that it's our time

You and me bleed the same light

I want you to know that I'm all yours

You and me we're the same force

I want you to know that it's our time

You and me bleed the same light

I want you to know that I'm all yours

You and me run the same course

"I Want You to Know" has everything we've come to expect from Zedd: hard-hitting beats, buzzing synths, and a soaring, emotional chorus. Actually, that's my one major issue with the song: it doesn't really bring anything new to the table. However, it's still a lot of fun to listen to, and Gomez's sweet vocals are definitely a good fit. Besides, rockin' out to "I Want You to Know" just might make the agonizing wait for short-sleeved shirts and 70-degree weather a teensy bit easier, and, at this point in the year, that's nothing to scoff at.

I think Zedlena have a hit on their hands! The first of many to come, perhaps? We'll just have to wait and see.

"I Want You to Know" is available on iTunes now.
