LinkedIn Requires Court Order to Block Trolls, Stalkers

When you update your profile on LinkedIn, you may be hoping that potential employers will see those updates. Chances are you're not also hoping for a stalker, but as it turns out, you may be at risk for getting one.

Unlike other social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest, it turns out LinkedIn doesn't have a blocking feature.

Now, a woman has started a Change.org petition after she claims she wrote to LinkedIn customer service about blocking a user, and was told the only way to block said member was if they were prohibited from having a LinkedIn account by virtue of a court order. Um, really?

Think about it. If you have someone that you're trying to keep your distance from, the last thing you want to do is to bring them to court. But according to LinkedIn, that's the only way you can currently prevent a person from going onto your profile and finding out where you live, where you work, and who you work with.

If LinkedIn doesn't change this policy soon, it could put the nail in the coffin on its image as "the creepiest social network."
