Meatloaf, Spaghetti, and Cupcakes In One Bite?!

by Catie Keck

What is it with the bombardment of quasi-fusion eats in the news recently? Piggy-backing on the bastardization-of-foods train, a Chicago bakery has combined spaghetti, cupcakes, and meatloaf for a treat they’ve named "Loaf-A-Roma," which FoodBeast describes as a “cupcake-shaped meatloaf topped with a 3-inch swirl of angel hair pasta.” So we can all go home now, because we’ve ruined everything. We’re fired. Game over.

"The meatloaf recipe includes beef, sausage, mozzarella, sun-dried tomatoes, basil, and a splash of red wine," Chief Meatloaf Maker Cynthia Kallile tells FoodBeast. A splash of red wine. Appropriately, the establishment responsible for the dish (dessert? appetizer?) goes by the name The Meatloaf Bakery, and specializes in, you guessed it — meatloaf. Its menu includes other fusions of classics, such as a spicy wing sauce meatloaf (“A Wing and a Prayer Loaf"), an interpretation of Thanksgiving dinner ("Herby Turkey Loaf"), and pork and chorizo concoction ("El Loafo Del Fuego"). Each of these miniature ‘loaf bites can be yours for $2.00 a pop, so you can indulge in a buffet-style meatloaf remix of every imaginable cuisine in one sitting.

Proceed at your own risk.
