Don't Try This PFW Look At Home

by May Sofi

The last leg of fashion month has just kicked off and it's already proving to be the best one yet. Some of the most wild, show-stopping looks have been spotted on the Paris runways, such as topless models at Jacquemus, space suits at H&M, and a boob-shaped handbag at Lemaire — and it's only day two. Perhaps the most jaw-dropping makeup look of all, so far, were the gold leaf face masks at Rick Owens.

The full-face metallic masks were not easy to create. Model Martyna Budna told Elle.com that the masterminds at MAC cosmetics painted the gold foil right onto the models' faces — a process that took an entire hour and a half to complete! The look is definitely unique, but this is not the first time we've seen crazy face masks on the runway. Intricate masks made an appearance multiple times in both Milan and Paris during this fashion month, making me wonder if elaborate headgear is going to be a big trend come fall. I predict that we might be seeing some mask-inspired makeup looks off the runway, although the IRL versions will probably look a little different, as these high-fashion options aren't exactly wearable. Still, they're pretty stunning to look at.

Check out some of the coolest mask-inspired makeup from fashion month!
