This Chocolate Bar Could Improve Your Skin

by Hayli Goode

Rumor has it that dark chocolate, laden with antioxidants and yummy goodness, is actually good for you in healthy doses. Now a new chocolate brand, Esthechoc, has created a chocolate bar that claims to benefit your skin. The product is called Cambridge Beauty Chocolate, and if it means eating more chocolate, I'm willing to try it for myself.

Here's how the chocolate works, according to Teen Vogue: "Made up of cocoa powders, butters, and Astaxanthin (a powerful antioxidant), the sin-free sweet stuff is said to reverse (or prevent!) the visible years on your face creating baby-smooth skin." The product claims to enhance skin microcirculation as well as skin firmness, radiance, and softness. The chocolate itself is pretty basic, containing 72.6 percent of natural, dark chocolate and may contain milk, soybeans, and nuts. The brand also offers specific dietary guidelines — one chocolate bar a day and not recommended for children. But it is vegan-and vegetarian-friendly!

The Cambridge Beauty Chocolate is every chocoholics dream come true. You can — nay, you are encouraged to eat a chocolate bar daily in order to improve your skin. And you have the perfect excuse not to share! "No, this is my special skin care chocolate."

However, nothing good comes cheap — one box of chocolate, which contains 21 bars, will cost you $54. If you're short on funds, you may just want to stick with good ol' health-benefit-free Hershey's Special Dark.
