Anthony Vaccarello x Lancome Is Coming This Fall

Anthony Vaccarello's more recent ascent in the fashion realm has been somewhat quick and fabulous. He popped on my radar back in 2013, thanks to Jennifer Lopez's supremely sexy, thigh-showing, black Grammy gown, and there he has remained. Now, Anthony Vaccarello has teamed up with venerable makeup brand Lancome for a collection landing on counters in Europe in 2015 and via Net-a-Porter domestically sometime this year.

The designer is understandably stoked to team up with a makeup brand that matches his vision.

"I was inspired by the Lancome woman's femininity and charisma — a special kind of elegance that's never lifeless nor frozen," Vaccarello said in a press release. For me, Lancome embodies the philosophy of understated beauty: it's something quintessentially French."

Vaccarello, who is behind Versus Versace, as well as his own eponymous line, and Lancome will no doubt offer up products that all women will want to play with.

Unfamiliar with Vaccarello and his aesthetic, which is full of asymmetric yet majorly feminine and skin-baring silhouettes? Well, A-listers and fashion queens like J. Lo and Gwyneth Paltrow have been wearing his creations and that has certainly increased his profile. But now, his partnership with a powerhouse like Lancome should send his stock soaring. Expect statement-making products, because Vaccarello has a strong point of view.

If you need a crash course in Anthony Vaccarello's vision, these are his most unforgettable dresses.

Va-va-va-voom! That slit, the draping, and the asymmetry that shows one leg and the opposite shoulder? It all adds up to a work of art.

The Brazilian glamazon wore this asymmetrical — see the pattern! — mini with metal detailing to the 2013 Met Gala and looked gorgeous, even though that event is all about huge, long gowns. Here, Vaccarello redefined the notion of LBD.

More black. More asymmetry. More sexy, courtesy of Vaccarello on the always scorching Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

While this dress, which the model wore to the 2012 Met Gala, was a diversion from the black hue that Vaccarello so often favors, it did show plenty of skin... and her hip bone. So, so memorable.
