'Fashion Police' Won't Be Back Until Fall

by Stephanie Chon

With the recent unexpected departures of Kathy Griffin and Kelly Osbourne, Fashion Police was set to take a short break and return on March 30. We hate to break it to you FP fans, but it looks like the break will be a bit longer than planned: E! has reported that Fashion Police will be going on a hiatus until September.

E!'s statement reads as follows:

E!’s comedy series Fashion Police is going on hiatus and will return in September. We look forward to taking this opportunity to refresh the show before the next awards season. Our talented co-hosts Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski, along with Executive Producer Melissa Rivers, will continue their roles as we evolve the show into its next chapter for the legions of Fashion Police fans around the world.

Considering what went down, this longer hiatus makes much more sense than trying to quickly put things back together and then come back in just two weeks. Good effort, E!, but we definitely think it's a better decision to wait until September.

Co-hosts Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski have not released any comments and seem to be avoiding the elephant in the room (read: their publicists are probably still figuring out a way to handle it). The two seem to be distracting themselves with food: Rancic instagrammed a photo of herself cooking pasta in the kitchen, while Goreski tweeted about his shrimp cocktail daydreams. Emotional eating, perhaps?

Sure, Fashion Police is going to suffer with impatient viewers who might turn to TMZ, Access Hollywood or ET for their celebrity fashion news, but bringing a show back to Joan Rivers' high standards is going to take some time. We can't wait to see who's going to fill the two open spots come September!
