Christina Stole The Show In A Convertible Dress

by May Sofi

It was just weeks ago that the world had a nervous breakdown after Christina Hendricks ditched her signature red locks for golden blonde and now she's turning heads once again. Christina Hendricks wore a convertible dress to the Mad Men Black & Red Ball, possibly igniting the return of the beloved hybrid design. The actress has been slaying the style game as of lately, looking fierce throughout her entire promotional run for the last season of Mad Men (that gangster-style suit she wore on her Late Show appearance was amazing), but this look is one of her best yet.

The custom Zac Posen dress started out as a formal ball gown, featuring a tight bodice with a full skirt that spilled out beautifully. Later in the night, Hendricks made an unexpected wardrobe change, ditching the detachable skirt and revealing a stunning curve-hugging dress with the same structured bodice, sans poof. The rich forest green color complemented her fair skin perfectly, not to mention it was fitted to perfection (I wouldn't expect anything less from Zac Posen).

But the quick change wasn't the only surprise of the night — Hendricks seemed to have colored her hair yet again, inching closer to her original crimson shade. I seriously can't keep up! When did she have the time to do this?

Personally, I am really digging this look. I mean, two dresses in one, how freaking cool is that?! Talk about functional fashion. This is exactly why I love Christina's style. Constantly at the forefront of new and emerging trends, she somehow manages to keep them classic and timeless, which takes serious skill. Both silhouettes looked incredible on her amazing figure, but the ball gown was definitely my favorite. Already the very epitome of style and grace, Hendricks looked like a real life princess draped in those layers of cascading satin. Work it Christina!
