Lily Allen's Custom Chanel Coat Is Everything

by Marc Cuenco

No one loves a fashion-risk taker more than Karl Lagerfeld, which is why only a handful of celebrities are deemed lucky enough to wear his spectacular, one-of-a-kind stage costumes. Lily Allen's pink Chanel coat with a large floral collar is undeniably the work of the designer, who considers the British pop star one of his muses. Allen wore the custom-designed ensemble at the 2015 Bal de la Rose in Monaco, an annual charity event founded by Princess Grace, where she performed. The pink velvet coat, boasting an oversize collar embellished with camellias, hid a stunning sequined Chanel Haute Couture dress underneath — both of which underscores Allen's quirky yet romantic style.

No one was more aware of the show-stopping ensemble than the Sheezus singer herself, who posted the pink, floral-themed outfit on Instagram over the weekend. "Sometimes I just wish people would leave me alone," Allen joked. "We're all entitled to our privacy." According to Chanel, Allen's whimsical coat was embroidered with silver sequins and pink pearls by Maison Lesage, while the camellia collar on her whimsical coat was created by Maison Lemarié. Allen completed her flapper-inspired look with a matching bob and lash extensions.
