Hailee Steinfeld Covers 'Flare' Magazine

by Lauren Turner

When we watch child stars grow up in front of our eyes, it's hard to shake the image of them as their younger selves. And Hailee Steinfeld's 'Flare' magazine cover is proof that she isn't that same little True Grit girl, anymore. The 18-year-old actress got to play with retro prints on modern silhouettes for her May cover of Canada's finest fashion magazine – and it's making me want to go back to the sixties.

Aside from the awesome mini-dress and slicked back hair on the first cover, the second cover shows Steinfeld in a dress with a totally retro peep-hole. Inside the issue, there's even more '60s vibes. A golden, sleeveless, floor-length trench with cream, quilted culottes. A trippy black dress and strappy heels. And probably the most amazing leather dress I've ever seen (it has buttons, stripes, and a half-collar). And to match the unforgettable clothing, Steinfeld talks about what it's like to grow up in the spotlight, which is something I know we've all dreamt about at least once.

While all of that is good and dandy, the timing of this cover is even more spot on. As Steinfeld's role in Pitch Perfect 2 is quickly approaching (May 15), getting a glimpse of the Oscar-nominated actress gets me that much more excited for the movie. Between this cover and Rebel Wilson's 'Elle UK' cover, I just can't wait.
