What's Up With Claire on 'Daredevil'?

Now that some of us have spent their Friday and Saturday getting to the very end of Netflix and Marvel's Daredevil, I'm guessing I'm not the only one with a million questions. But considering how excited I was to see Rosario Dawson cast in Daredevil , the future of her character is as the forefront of my mind. Dawson shows up sporadically throughout the first season and she even gets to mac on Charlie Cox, aka Daredevil aka Matt Murdock, for a bit, but then she's gone and we're left to wonder what's going to happen to Claire Temple?

Those who've finished the season know that Claire leaves Matt behind, vowing that she'll always be around to patch him up when he gets hurt (hence the Night Nurse character merge with Claire's character) but that she simply can't be his one and only. It's too dangerous and she did get beat up real badly just for being in his life. The implication here is that if they got together, they could have a great love, but it's simply not going to happen. (Instead, Matt will probably cozy up to his girlfriend from the comics, Karen Page.)

So where does this leave Claire? You don't just cast someone like Dawson and only give her a few episodes and send her on her way...

While I'm hoping Claire gets her own show (simply so that Dawson can shine on her own), I'm fairly certain that she's going to show up on Netflix's upcoming series Luke Cage. It's pretty simple: Claire Temple is the comic book love interest for Luke Cage and Marvel really likes to drop characters into one series or film so that audiences are familiar with them when they come up elsewhere. So, Daredevil combined Night Nurse and Claire so they could introduce us to Rosario's character during Daredevil, leave us hanging when she leaves, and have us leaping for joy when she shows up to romance Mike Colter when he finally hits Netflix as Luke Cage.

Of course, that doesn't mean Claire couldn't get her own show. With the rate at which the Marvel Cinematic Universe is expanding, pretty much anything can happen, no matter how unlikely.
