Whoa. Talk about a scary accident. On Thursday morning, a Lady Antebellum tour bus caught fire, but before fans start freaking out, everyone walked away safely. Actually, it was singer Hillary Scott's tour bus where the fire started, while traveling to the ACM Awards in Arlington, Texas. As the bus was heading down the highway, one of the tire's caught on fire causing a quick evacuation and bus damage.
Scott announced the news, along with photo of the fire aftermath, on Instagram. Thankfully, she also alerted fans that she and everyone else on the bus, including her husband, tour manager, and driver, are absolutely fine. Thank goodness. The caption reads as follows:
Hey guys, we had a crazy morning on the way to Dallas today. Our bus tire caught on fire and we had to evacuate very quickly. EVERYONE IS SAFE AND SOUND. It was me, my husband, our tour manager, and driver. Thanking God for our safety and the safety of all of those who helped put this fire out and keep us safe. Love you all!!!! ~hillary
That's definitely an exciting way to start out a trip to an awards show. Lady Antebellum is nominated for vocal group of the year at the ACM Awards. They will also perform at the 50th annual event.
According to NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth, who spoke with publicist Mary Hilliard, the bus that caught fire is not Scott's "usual bus." No explanation was given why Scott didn't take her usual bus. Authorities also told the NBC news affiliate it would take around three to four hours to clean up the damage.
Per ABC News, the other Lady Antebellum members, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood, were traveling separately to Dallas. Again, thank goodness no one was seriously hurt and they can continue on their way to the awards show.
