Olivia Wilde Nails Formal Fringe

by May Sofi

Olivia Wilde is without a doubt one of my favorite style icons. The 31 year-old always kills it in the fashion department with her bold, stylish choices that can truly stand the test of time. Olivia Wilde wore a fringe dress to the opening night of Finding Neverland in NYC, nailing the unique trend and showing us how to do the same. As a seasoned Hollywood veteran, the actress has had her fair share of red carpet appearances, so she knows a thing or two about getting in line with emerging trends.

The white Marchesa garment was absolutely exquisite, covered in swooping 1920s-inspired tassels and long-hanging fringe at the hemline as well as at the sleeves. Beautiful violet and white flower appliqués adorned the shoulders, giving the dress a more modern feel. Wilde completed the flapper-like look with dainty white sandals and a metallic box clutch. She looks like she belongs on the set of The Great Gatsby — totally channeling Daisy Buchanan. The hair and makeup was on point too, styled in a sleek pulled-back ponytail and minimal soft makeup, letting the dress take front and center in the look. Who says formal fringe can't be done?
