3 Past Coaches Are Returning to 'The Voice'

by Jessica Molinari

Well, we are in for a treat next week. Usher, Gwen Stefani AND Cee Lo Green will all be returning to The Voice stage. The three ex-coaches will serve as mentors to the Top 8. Usher will be paired with Team Adam, Cee Lo with Team Blake, and Gwen Stefani with both Team Christina and Team Pharrell. This homecoming is a great way to get the entire The Voice family involved in the show and is a major advantage to the contestants since these mentors all have experience working with artists who have been in their shoes. The homecoming is sure to bring out the genius — and silliness — in all the coaches, and we can't wait to see what happens.

The collaboration we should all be most excited about is between Christina Aguilera and Gwen Stefani. At the time this article was written only India Carney and Kimberly Nichole had been saved — no word on Rob Taylor's fate in the game. But the girls are really going to be the ones to benefit from this power couple. Aguilera and Stefani, being the power divas they are, are the perfect pair to coach these two ladies. Aguilera has already gotten their vocals to an incredible level, and now Stefani can really focus on bringing their overall performances to the next level.

This pairing is also pretty awesome because there will just be way too much girl power to handle. A female coach has never won this competition and it's about time that happened. If a member of Team Christina is to win this season (which I'm pretty convinced will happen), it will be pretty cool to know that two female coaches came together to make that happen. The only problem is that Stefani will be splitting her time between Team Christina & Team Pharrell — and the Stefani/Pharrell pairing could be a pretty incredible one too. Team Christina definitely has the advantage though, because her team is just so fierce as it is. Next week will definitely be an episode to watch — and I can't wait to see the craziness that ensues when all the coaches are under the same roof.
