There's little doubt that Michelle Obama may be one of the best dressed First Ladies to ever grace the White House, and here's further proof of that: Michelle Obama's White House State Dinner gown was nothing short of stunning. The dress designed by Tadashi Shoji— a Japanese American designer— was the perfect gown for the state dinner and appeared to be the First Lady's fashionable diplomatic nod.
Just last week, FLOTUS was looking lovely at the White House Correspondents' Dinner—or "Nerd prom" as it's often cheekily called. The gorgeous Obama rocked beautiful spiral curls and a sparkling gown that was anything but demure. The glittering dress definitely made a statement and attracted loads of praise, and that's easily one of the best things about the First Lady! She has a willingness to step outside of the traditionally conservative fashion of first ladies without crossing the boundaries of her title. Though FLOTUS has faced her fair share of sartorial criticism, she handles the commentary with grace and continues to rock the styles she loves.
Last night, Obama stunned in her Tadashi Shoji gown, which, like most of her gowns, was meant as a sartorial acknowledgment of the culture with whom she was coordinating. Shoji's beautiful creation featured a stunning flowing bottom with feminine feather detailing on the bodice. The brilliant shade of purple was eye catching, and the entire ensemble was definitely worthy of our very stylish First Lady.
