This Guy Thinks Women Are Hypochondriacs

by Nathalie O'Neill

We've heard a lot of arguments against Obamacare — don't even get me started on the website. Regardless of your side of the aisle, the Affordable Care Act is definitely a touchy subject (just look at what happened when *NSYNC tweeted about it). Now, Libertarian Fox Business host John Stossel is up in arms about it because obviously women are hypochondriacs and we don't want to pay for seniors' Viagra. Yup, he went there.

Stossel appeared on Fox & Friends and told host Steve Doocy, “Women go to the doctor much more often than men! Maybe they’re smarter or maybe they’re hypochondriacs. They live longer. Who knows?"

Stossel said that it "kills the market" that women can no longer be charged more than men for insurance. For Stossel, the ideal scenario would involve all of Fox viewers paying out of pocket for the best services — pregnant women will just have to deal. "You ought to be able to charge the people who use the services more," argues Stossel. "It's fair if you pay for what you use."

Stossel is pissed women carry babies, because that costs money. His buddies can pay for their own Viagra, so why can't we take care of our female genitalia? Hands off Stossel's consumer choice — the man is one angry Libertarian.
