What Makes Up An Uncle Jesse?

by Rachel Simon

Is there any character as universally beloved as Full House's Uncle Jesse? Sure, Michelle had her catchphrases and Kimmy had her crazy outfits, but no one on the show was as ridiculously charming and likable as Jesse Katsopolis (John Stamos). Part of that, of course, had to do with the fact that he was portrayed by Stamos, the crush of every '90s girl there ever was. The rest of that can be attributed to the fact that he tended to get the best lines, outfits, and storylines out of any of the Tanner adults. Whatever the reason, though, there's no question about it: Uncle Jesse was the coolest guy on Full House.

There was his passion for music, his perfectly-combed hair, and his adorable relationships with the Tanner kids — especially his niece Michelle and his twins with Becky, Nicky and Alex. Everything Jesse did (well, almost everything — remember that mullet phase?) made him lovable, and it's no wonder fans were thrilled when Stamos announced that his character would appear on the Fuller House spinoff series when it premieres. Uncle Jesse was a main reason Full House was so beloved back in the '90s, and why it's still so adored all these years later.

In pie chart form, here are all the things that make up Uncle Jesse:
