Another Reason To Admire Beyonce

Whether it's the empowering lyrics of her songs or her ability to look flawless on any red carpet, there are plenty of reasons to admire Beyoncé. It's like she can do no wrong. She's a style icon, Grammy Award-winning singer, outspoken feminist, the list goes on and on... Another appropriate title? Humanitarian. Beyoncé recently took a mission trip to Haiti with the U.N. and shared photos on her personal website and Instagram.

According to NBC News, Beyoncé took the Haiti trip to see the country's progress since the devastating earthquake in 2010. During the trip, she was joined by Valerie Amos, who serves as the United Nations' Humanitarian Affairs Chief and Emergency Relief Coordinator. The news site reports,

Haiti U.N. mission spokeswoman Sophie Boutaud de la Combe said Saturday that Beyonce also was able to "meet some of the people who were affected by" the 2010 disaster in the impoverished Caribbean country.

It's so great to see the superstar take time to help others and hear their stories. Sure, she may be the best dressed at any award show she attends, but more importantly, she proves that what's on the inside matters more. As someone with more than 33 million Instagram followers, she has a huge influence and her actions can hopefully inspire others to take action as well.

In the pictures, she's wearing a shirt that says "Bey Good," which is a movement started by Beyoncé to help others. According to the organization's website, "We are all in this together. Each and every one of us can make a difference by giving back." There's also a sign-up on her site for anyone to become a #BeyGood ambassador.

Here are some photos from Bey's humanitarian mission in Haiti:

While she didn't include captions with a majority of the images, the pictures speak for themselves. Bravo to Beyonce for taking the time to think of and help others. If she can fit selflessness into her busy schedule, there's no reason we all can't, too!
