5 Ways To Wear The New Ban.Do X BC Shoes Collab

by Jodie Layne

The fun-loving women behind the endlessly colorful, glitter-filled, and playful accessories brand Ban.Do are probably responsible for a good bit of color on your Instagram feed and in you purse. Ban.Do day planners have achieved cult status in a world of digital and cloud-based calendars, after all. They've managed to add sass and personality to phone chargers and bobby pins. And their phone cases are young Hollywood it girl celebrity faves. So it makes sense that there's now a line of Ban.Do shoes just in time for summer. And, yes, they're completely colorful and shimmery.

Ban.Do collaborated with West Coast-cool shoe brand BC Footwear on two styles of vegan shoes in multiple fun colors and patterns that adhere to its playful aesthetic. "If life is a party (and we think it is), these shoes are icing on the cake," BC Footwear's website reads.

While some of Ban.Do's accessories are totally OTT in the best way possible, even the most minimalist dresser will likely fall in love with at least one pair of these shoes. If you're wondering how to get away with making shoes from a brand that sells a "Party Time" plastic headband appropriate for work — or an afternoon of popsicles and carnival rides — I have some ideas:

1. Casual Friday At The Office

This look is more conservative and classic, but you can whip off the cardigan and throw your hair in a messy updo after office hours to have drink or head to a cookout.

2. Babe Brunch

Low-key — yet, fun and colorful — pretty much describes the perfect brunch with your besties. You want to feel comfortable, but still look cute when you stuff your face with waffles and mimosas, right?

3. Lookin' Cute At The Carnival

When you're going to eat sugary treats and ride rides until you feel like you're gonna puke, you should look adorable while doing it. Channel cotton candy chic by dressing in cute pinks with cool blue accents and then pile on two super fun patterns because more is more.

Clockwise, From Top Left: Stretch Crepe Skirt, $45, eShakti | Sexy Jeff Tee, $55, Clashist | Unicorn Sneaker, $70, bcfoot wear | Banner Necklace, $18, Bando

4. Dinner Date

Yes, I'm suggesting print mixing and gauchos on a date. The mixed print outfit is a good way to test your date's fashion sense. This outfit is breezy so you'll stay cool, even if you're hella nervous.

Clockwise From Top: Stay Gold Necklace, $18, Bando | Varick Color Block Top, $25, Fashion to Figure | Unicorn Sneaker, $70, bcfootwear | BB Dakota Lace Crop Top, $34, Amazon | Striped Gaucho Pants, $68, eShakti

5. Saturday Errands

You know the kind of Saturday I'm talking about: You're up early and grabbing a coffee as soon as your favorite cafe opens so you can get a head start on dropping off your dry cleaning, visiting the farmer's market, renewing your passport, and meeting your mom for lunch. Comfy shoes with playful accents and a huge bag are practical, while vegan leather shorts and cute prints are pure fun.
