What Cupcakes & Cashmere Told Us About Her Line

by Marc Cuenco

Fans of Emily Schuman's style will soon be able to dress like their favorite fashion and lifestyle guru. That's because Cupcakes and Cashmere is launching a clothing line next month, which the trendsetting blogger and book author announced on Monday. The 40-piece collection will be released on July 6, and sold exclusively at Nordstrom and ShopBop. Bustle reached out to Schuman about her new venture and asked her what fans could expect from the Cupcakes and Cashmere line.

"This line is the culmination of everything we've worked towards for the past seven years and I feel it truly reflects the aesthetic and vision of the Cupcakes and Cashmere brand," she told Bustle. "I'm so proud of the work that went into the collection and hope that comes through in each piece."

On her blog post announcing the clothing line, Schuman revealed that the fall 2015 collection was inspired by three California locations: Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Malibu. Each of the three cities is represented by a specific theme — edgy and urban for L.A., preppy and polished for San Francisco, and relaxed and trendy for Malibu. The 40-piece collection is versatile, affordable (most of the items are priced less than $200), and stays true to the blog's super chic aesthetic.

"We developed a line that can be mixed and matched with anything in your closet, focused on quality tailoring and materials, while hitting an affordable price point," Schuman said. "It turned out better than I ever imagined." Take a sneak peek at the debut collection below and see more pieces from the Cupcakes and Cashmere clothing line on her blog.
